How to use Parking Lot Split

Parking Lot Split runs your group's golf side games (Banker, Nassau, Skins, Wolf and more), tracks the money hole by hole and gives you the settle-up ledger before you leave the parking lot.

Quick start

  1. Pick a game on 🏠 Home. Setup shows it at the top; tap Change game there to go back to the picker.
  2. Pick the course on Setup (search, or tap a saved course).
  3. Add players and pick each player's tee in their row.
  4. Enter each player's handicap (see below).
  5. Tap Start / Resume β–Ά to start the round.
  6. On each hole, enter gross scores and any doubles/triples.
  7. When you're done, tap 🏁 End round (bottom of Play, the Resume card, or the ☰ menu). It saves the final scores and money to History and shows the round summary. An ended round can't be reopened. End & delete throws the round away instead: nothing is saved, and on a live round the other phones are told it was deleted.

Entering a handicap

  • Type the player's handicap as a whole number, e.g. 12.
  • For a plus handicap, use "+", e.g. +1 (or tap +/-).
  • It's used exactly as entered β€” the app makes no slope or rating adjustment.

How to figure the number

Use your course handicap for the tees you're playing on that course. The easiest way: in the GHIN app, open the course handicap calculator, choose this course and your tee, and enter the number it shows.

Game rules

  • Hole 1: banker is picked at random.
  • Holes 2–15: low gross on the previous hole banks; longest putt made breaks a tie. Fixed $5 bet on holes 1–15.
  • Holes 16–18: the player down the most money banks (re-decided each hole) and sets the bet.
  • Ties push.
  • Par 4s & 5s: a player can double off the tee; the banker can double back.
  • Par 3s: a player can triple while the ball is in the air; the banker can triple back.
  • Strokes = the difference between handicaps. No strokes on par 3s β€” those carry to the next-hardest non-par-3 hole.

Other games

Pick the game on Setup β†’ Game. Banker is the default. All other games use net scores: strokes come off the low man (difference in handicaps), given by stroke index including par 3s. To match Banker, tick No strokes on par 3s in the Game card β€” then a stroke that would land on a par 3 carries to the next-hardest non-par-3 hole. (Banker always skips par 3s.)

  • Nassau (2 players head to head, or 4 as two 2-man teams – pick the teams in the Game card; each team plays its best net ball): front 9, back 9 and overall 18 are three separate match-play bets. Win more holes = win that bet. Optional auto press: when a side goes 2 down in a nine, a new bet starts on the next hole and runs to the end of that nine (it can press again).
  • Skins (2–24): lowest net score alone wins the skin, worth the skin value from each other player. Ties carry the skin to the next hole. Skins still tied after 18 push. With a big field, each group's scorer taps πŸ‘₯ Choose on Play to show only their group (saved on that phone); standings and the summary always show everyone.
  • Wolf (4 or 5): the wolf rotates in player order. After tee shots the wolf picks a partner, or goes Lone Wolf. Best net ball. 2-on-2: each winner gets 1 point, each loser pays 1. Lone Wolf is double: the wolf wins or pays 2 points to each of the other 3. Ties push. On 17 and 18 the player in last place is the wolf. With 5 players: it's the wolf + partner vs the other 3, each player on the losing side pays each player on the winning side 1 point; Lone Wolf is 1 vs 4 at double (2 points each); and last place is the wolf on 16, 17 and 18.
  • Hammer (2 players; 4 also works as 1+2 vs 3+4): match play each hole for the base value. Either side can hammer to double it. The other side accepts (tap πŸ”¨) or concedes the hole at the current value. Ties push.
  • Vegas (4, 1+2 vs 3+4): put the team's two net scores together, low first (4 and 5 = 45). If a team makes a (gross) birdie, the other team's number flips, high first (54). If both teams birdie, there's no flip. Pay the difference Γ— the point value.
  • Snake (2–6): enter putts (or tick 3-putt). The last player to 3-putt holds the snake and pays each other player the snake amount at the end.
  • Six-Six-Six (4): partners change every 6 holes: 1+2 v 3+4, then 1+3 v 2+4, then 1+4 v 2+3. Best net ball, with the bet paid per hole or per 6-hole match.
  • Stroke Play (1–5): lowest total score wins. Choose Net (strokes off the low man, like the other games) or Gross. Bet options: $ per stroke – every pair settles the difference in their totals Γ— the amount – or a winner-take-all pot (everyone puts in the amount; ties split it). Money counts holes everyone has finished.
  • Match Play (2): net match play – the higher handicap gets the difference in strokes by stroke index. Win a hole with the lower net score; ties halve. Status shows like 2 UP, AS (all square) or Dormie (up as many holes as are left). The match ends as soon as one player is up more holes than remain, e.g. 3&2. Optional $ bet on the match; a halved match pushes.

Live rounds with several groups

Every group's scorer can join the same live round by code and enter scores at the same time. Each score is merged in separately, so two phones entering different players or holes never overwrite each other. If two phones change the same score, the most recent change wins. When the scorekeeper taps 🏁 End round, every other phone is told the round has ended, gets the final summary in History and stops syncing. Later edits can't reopen it.
